***XV-5050 Version Update***

**NOTE:  All user information will be reset to factory settings when performing the update. 
Please back up all necessary User information.

*Tools Needed

1.  XV-5050   
2.  XV-5050 update files
3.  MIDI Cable
4.  Sequencer capable of playing SMFs

**Update Procedure

1.  Connect the MIDI "out" of the sequencer to the MIDI "in" of the XV-5050
2.  Power on the XV-5050 while holding CURSOR < and CURSOR >
3.  Press PATCH FINDER to begin update
4.  Send all SMFs in numeric order

Note: files 25-32 are not used for the update.

5.  PATCH FINDER will flash as SMFs are being received
6.  After all files are sent, power off unit
7.  Power on unit normally to return to normal mode

*Factory Reset Procedure

1.  Press UTILITY so that it is lit
2.  Cursor LEFT to the upper left portion of the display
3.  Rotate VALUE dial to select FACTORY RESET
4.  Press ENTER twice
5.  If Write Protect message is displayed, use VALUE dial to turn OFF, and press ENTER twice to complete
